Theresa told me 'King or Kingsgate Native to be exact, was by Mujadil (USA) out of Native Force (IREL) (Indian Ridge). Foaled in 2005 in Ireland, King is a brown gelding. A Racehorse of great ability and speed, he races in sprints over 5 and 6 furlongs, the fastest races in the horse racing calendar. Since 2007 he has competed in 25 races in England and France, all of them important Group races, the 'top of the tree' races for only the best racehorses. These races are run at the top Racecourses such as Royal Ascot, York, Goodwood, Haydock, Newmarket and at Longchamp in Paris. To date 'King' has had 4 wins, 4 seconds, 3 thirds, and many close run races where he has finished fourth or fifth in photo finishes where 5 or 6 horses cross the line almost together. He has seldom been out of the prize money and to date has amassed winnings of over £700,000. One of his forelegs was slightly injured during his last race necessitating in a well deserved rest at his owner's stud farm where he acts as companion to the wonderful thoroughbred brood mares in residence. His painting was commissioned by Brian, his exercise rider and the person looking after his welfare in the training stable. 'King' is a gentle giant in the stable, loving any attention lavished upon him. However he is a true sprinter out on the gallops, his main objective is to get to the end of the line in the fastest time possible. It is, after all, what he does best'
